Masako Banno

Ms.Banno has over 20 years of experience as a Japanese lawyer, and has been admitted to the New York Bar since 2014. She has extensive experience advising global companies entering the Japanese market, with a particular focus on private company acquisitions, establishment of local subsidiaries, and the launch of their business operations in Japan. Her area of practice includes M&A, data protection and intellectual property, as well as day-to-day employment law matters.

She has served as a member of the audit & supervisory board of two high-growth Japanese companies, contributing her first-hand expertise in corporate governance. Since 2017, she has been an active member and officer of the International Bar Association(IBA). She was born in Ottawa, Canada, and is fluent in English.
